Problem-solving skills are recognized as an integral
component of computer programming and in this block the primary focus of this
course is to teach the basic programming constructs of C language. Emphasis is
placed on developing the student's ability to apply problem-solving strategies
to design algorithms and to implement these algorithms in a structured
procedural programming language. This course includes a laboratory component
also where in which the student gets the hands on experience. Basically one
must explore possible avenues to a solution one by one until s/he comes across
a right path to an optimize and efficient solution. In general, as one gains
experience in solving problems, one develops one's own techniques and
strategies, though they are often intangible.
